Q. I can’t see or download the sample units and/or I’m getting an error message.
A. Older versions of the iPad and iPhone don’t support modern web scripting. However, if you look just below where the sample should appear, you will see the words: “Sample above not displaying? Click here download the .PDF”. Simply click on that link and the sample will open up in your iPad/iPhone.
Q. I’ve purchased a unit on my iPad/iPhone but nothing happens when I click “Download” or “Save to Dropbox”. Can I still download the file?
A. Yes you can. Things work a little differently on the iPad/iPhone. DO NOT click on “Download” or “Save to Dropbox”, instead, click on the title of the unit to open the file. Then use the share icon to save the file to iBooks. Your file will now be saved inside your iBooks app.

A. These list the specific Ontario expectations covered in the unit. The levels are the four levels of achievement outlined by the Ministry of Education for Ontario. This section is useful for tracking student progress and it makes a handy reference tool at parent-teacher conferences.
Q. What is a “THPlink”?
A. The THPlink integrates the unit with your technology program by directing the student to our online website called THPLINK.TV. The THPlink consist of a video presentation, or an audio presentation, or a reading selection, or a map, or some other fun, online activity that students love to engage with that supports the unit.
Q. Must I or my students must sign up or pay anything to access the THPlink?
A. No. We have made THPLINK.TV completely hassle-free and free-of-charge. There is no annoying signup or password required. The students are encouraged to visit the links from home as well.
Q. How do I get to the correct THPlink for the unit I’m using on THPLINK.TV?
A. In the “THPlink” section of the unit you will see a QR Code (a square white box with a pattern in it). If the student has a device (smartphone/tablet) with a QR Code reader installed, they can simply scan the QR Code with their device to be taken directly to the appropriate THPlink page. Alternatively, you could type the URL (web address) listed on the page into any web browser on a computer / laptop / Chromebook / tablet / smartphone / smartTV to get to the appropriate THPlink page. Another way to get to the correct THPlink for the unit is to visit THPLINK.TV then enter the 6-digit THPlink code into the search box then click “Search”.
Q. Can I display the unit on my whiteboard? Can I display the THPlink video on my whiteboard too?

A. Yes. Visit the appropriate THPlink webpage at home (or wherever you have access to the Internet). At the bottom of the page you will see a section called “Teacher Downloads”. Click on “Download This Video” to open a preview window of the video. At the top of that page look for a downward pointing arrow. A. You can print or distribute as many copies of the unit as you like. There licence does not expire, so it is yours to use for life. If you are using the units within your own classroom there are no limits. Please note that the units cannot be used by another teacher or in someone else’s classroom.
Q. Do I need any special permission to play the THPlink videos in my classroom?
A. No. Please feel free to play the videos as often as you like within your own classroom.
Q. Why is my name and licence number on the bottom of every page in the unit and can I get rid of it?
A. The licence name and licence number may not be removed from the unit as that is proof of purchase.
Q. I understand why my name and licence number is stamped at the bottom of every page but I don’t want my students to know my first name. What can I do about this?
A. The licence name and licence number may not be removed from the unit as that is proof of purchase. If you don’t want your first name to appear on the unit, it would be acceptable to use your first initial and your last name. To do this, when you checkout, click “Yes” beside “Is this order a gift?” You can “gift” this purchase to yourself. Where it asks the “Recipient Name”, simply put your first initial and your last name. This is what will appear on the bottom of each unit.
Q. I want to edit the file before giving it to my students but it won’t let me edit it. Why?
A. Editing permissions are not allowed due to the licensing stamp that is at the bottom of each page in the unit.
Q. I want my students to have a copy of the unit on their devices. Is that allowed?
A. Yes. If they are your students, you may distribute a copy to each of them.
Q. How do I get a digital copy to each of my students?
A. There are several ways. You could put the file you downloaded onto a thumb drive and give a copy to each student. You could email a copy of the file to each student. You could use a file hosting service like DropBox or GoogleDrive to host the file, then give your students a download link to the file. Note: please do not give your students the same download link you were give when you purchased the unit. The link will expire after 10 uses and is only intended for the teacher’s use.
